

The Approach:
Given the diversity of the NIAB business, the Chair brought together a 5 strong selection panel from the NIAB boards and Eden conducted four scoping sessions to invite all key stakeholders to input into the final job description & candidate profile brought together in a professional briefing document.After these consultations it was clear NIAB wanted to conduct a global search to find a commercially shrewd, knowledgeable, entrepreneurial, dynamic, and inspirational leader who has the strategic vision and management competence to lead the organisation through the next phase of growth.Our Head of Research led an extensive search process across the world engaging with the very best in academia, research organisations and commercial focused global Agritech corporations. This search engaged with over 150 possible candidates across 4 continents and through screening and assessment reduced this to a shortlist of seven candidates, all of which were invited to interview.

After this extensive global search and selection process, NIAB appointed Professor Mario Caccamo.

The Eden team then engaged in detail with senior candidates from the industry having a distinct focus on cultural alignment and a clear understanding the Fram strategy to ensure there was the ‘perfect fit’.
