Ivy Farm
Vice President of Manufacturing & Vice President Product and Manufacturing Director

Case study

The way we produce and consume food needs to change. Driven by contributing to a more sustainable future through innovation and science, Ivy Farm are a spin out from the University of Oxford with a mission of being able to provide meat products without the need for animal slaughter. The business is at the forefront of the cultured meat sector in the UK and with global growth ambitions. The co-founders had reached a stage of requiring a leadership team in key functional areas to continue to drive the business forward. Still operating in stealth mode, Ivy Farm appointed Eden Search to appoint a Vice President of Manufacturing, Vice President Product and Manufacturing Director.

The Approach

Eden Search embarked on an extensive, global talent identification and engagement process targeting across a number of defined sectors. Candidate engagement was managed discreetly and carefully to ensure Ivy Farm’s confidentiality was protected. Eden were also required to represent Ivy Farm in a manor that engaged candidates to overcome any potential risk aversion of joining a start up, particularly as the key skill sets sought exist in large, global businesses.

The Results

Eden successfully managed the process to ensure Ivy Farm appointed the most relevant and high calibre candidates in each role. Most importantly, given Ivy Farm’s lifestage, where forming of culture and values is critical, all candidates represented an excellent fit. Eden carefully and sensitively managed the process to completion, appreciating each candidate was making a significant move either relocating from another market, or exiting a large, recognised sector leader.
